Living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest comes with its fair share of rain. But all that moisture can wreak havoc on your home's exterior, especially your siding. Here at Baklinski Construction, we see a lot of rotting siding in Seattle, Mercer Island, and Bellevue. We recently tackled a particularly challenging case, and we wanted to share it with you to show why choosing the best rot repair service in Seattle truly matters.
Don't Let Rotting Siding Ruin Your Seattle Home's Curb Appeal (or Structure!)
The Challenge: A homeowner contacted us about a concerning issue with their garage. Rot had set in on the back corner, causing the siding to crumble and fall apart. Upon closer inspection, we discovered the problem was far more extensive. The entire sill plate – a crucial structural element – was completely rotted out.
The Baklinski Fix: Our team sprang into action! We meticulously removed the damaged sections of the sill plate, replacing it with pressure-treated (PT) wood for long-lasting durability. We didn't stop there! We also discovered rot in a main support beam, which we treated with a specialized filler and reinforced with additional framing for ultimate strength. Finally, we sourced the exact same siding material from Dunn Lumber to seamlessly patch the affected areas. To top it all off, we painted the repaired section to perfectly match the rest of the garage, maintaining its aesthetic appeal.
The Result: A structurally sound and beautiful garage, free from the threat of rotting. The homeowner was thrilled with the results, and their peace of mind was restored.
