Urgent Basement Structural Repair

Here we are working on structural repair in the basement/garage. What started as a project to strengthen the floor above the garage with a new support beam (allowing us to lower the floor in the room above and construct a curbless shower pan) quickly turned into much more.

When we opened up the back corner of the garage to get a look at the framing, we noticed extensive water damage and rot both in the back walls of the garage, and also the main support beam sitting atop the cement foundation, which in turn was supporting the whole house.

Now there was an urgent need to remove and repair the damage.

We have the space where the rotted-out beam used to be, now excavated and reinforced with rebar, ready for new concrete to be poured on top.

The construction of the form in which we pour the concrete, allows us to float the foundational support to the top of the base floor of the house.

The main foundation of the house was sitting on

rotten wood but thanks to our team, we were able to remedy the situation and help the homeowners sleep better at night.
